November 13, 2025 – Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU) extended a warm welcome to a delegation of executives and faculty members from the Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET), People’s Republic of China, for a meeting focused on establishing and strengthening academic cooperation.
The welcoming ceremony, held at the Reception Room of the Rajabhat Chalerm Phrakiat Building, Wiang Bua campus, was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Akkarasit Boonsongtae, Vice President of CMRU. He was joined by executives, faculty, and staff of the university, including leadership from the CMRU International College, such as Associate Professor Dr. Sutthinun Chuenchom, Dean of the International College.
The discussions primarily centered on forging comprehensive collaboration between the two institutions, which also included representatives from Hisense Company. Key areas of collaboration reviewed were:
Student Exchange: To provide students from both universities with opportunities to study and experience the culture of China and Thailand.
Short-term Internships: To enable students to gain practical work experience at international organizations, including Hisense Company.
Consideration of Joint Curriculum (2+2): Specifically in Chinese language programs, where students would study for two years at their home university and another two years at the host university to potentially earn a joint degree.
This meeting marks a significant step forward in expanding CMRU’s international academic cooperation network and strengthens the relationship between educational institutions in Thailand and the People’s Republic of China.
