CMRU International College Students Win Awards at “Durian Games” Academic Skills Competition
Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU) International College students recently won awards at the “Durian Games” academic skills competition, a cultural exchange and sports event held for international students from four universities in Northern Thailand.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutthinan Chuenchom, Dean of the International College, revealed that the college, in collaboration with the Office of International Relations, led over 90 international students from Guangxi Normal University, Guizhou Minzu University, Tenri University, Cambodian scholarship students, as well as students from Bhutan, Brazil, and Myanmar to participate in the event. The “Durian Games” was held from January 25-26, 2025 at Uttaradit Rajabhat University.
The opening ceremony, held on January 25, 2025 at the Uttaradit Rajabhat University auditorium, was honored by the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Radee Thanarak, Vice President of Uttaradit Rajabhat University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Siwat Kamolkhunanon, Assistant to the President of Uttaradit Rajabhat University, who welcomed the executives, faculty, staff, and participants.
CMRU students competed in academic skills competitions, including a speech contest, a Thai language question and answer session, a Thai handwriting contest, a student cultural performance, and a Thai song contest. The award winners are as follows:
Gold Medal for Speech Contest

Gold Medal for Question and Answer Session

Bronze Medal for Thai Handwriting Contest

Gold Medal for Student Cultural Performance
- Students from Guangxi Normal University exchange program, coached by Dr. Sunisa Sukin and students from the Dance Education program.
Gold Medal for Thai Song Contest

- Ms. Ma Luxue
Silver Medal for Thai Song Contest
Ms. Wei Yiqiong
The students from Guangxi Normal University also won a gold medal for their cultural performance.
In the sports competition held at the Uttaradit Rajabhat University gymnasium, CMRU won a gold medal in collaboration with Lampang Rajabhat University. The sports included ping pong relay race, basketball shooting, and sack race.
Students from Guizhou Minzu University also participated in the flag handover ceremony. Dr. Worasuda Wattanawong, Director of the Office of International Relations, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutthinan Chuenchom, Dean of the International College, received the flag. Chiang Mai Rajabhat University will be the host of the event in the next academic year.
