Students enrolled in the English for Tour Guide course at an international college recently embarked on an enriching field trip to enhance their understanding of tourism in Chiang Mai. The excursion focused on two key areas: elephant welfare and ecotourism.
The first stop was at Kunta Elephant Sanctuary, where students gained firsthand knowledge about the lives, well-being, culture, and beliefs surrounding elephants and their mahouts (caretakers). This immersive experience provided valuable insights into responsible and ethical elephant tourism practices.
Following the sanctuary visit, the students explored the scenic Bua Tong Waterfall (Sticky Falls) and the Seven Colors Spring in Mae Taeng district. At this location, they learned about designing trekking routes and providing informative commentary related to ecotourism.
The students had the privilege of being guided by Mr. Somchai Boonkung, a seasoned tour guide and expert in both elephants and ecotourism. Mr. Boonkung shared his extensive knowledge and experience, providing the students with practical skills and a deeper appreciation for sustainable tourism practices.
This field trip served as an invaluable opportunity for the students to apply their classroom learning in real-world settings, preparing them to become informed and responsible tour guides in the future.
นักศึกษาจากวิทยาลัยนานาชาติ ในรายวิชา “English for Tour Guide” ได้เดินทางไปทัศนศึกษาเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะและความรู้ภาคปฏิบัติ โดยการศึกษาครั้งนี้มุ่งเน้นไปที่การให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับวิถีชีวิต ความเป็นอยู่ วัฒนธรรม และความเชื่อที่เกี่ยวข้องกับช้างและควาญช้าง ณ Kunta Elephant Sanctuary นอกจากนี้ นักศึกษายังได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการออกแบบเส้นทางเดินป่าและการให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ (Trekking Tour) ณ อุทยานแห่งชาติน้ำตกบัวตอง (น้ำตกเหนียว) และน้ำพุเจ็ดสี อำเภอแม่แตง จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก คุณสมชาย บุญกุ้ง มัคคุเทศก์มืออาชีพและผู้เชี่ยวชาญเรื่องช้างและการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ เป็นผู้บรรยายให้ความรู้และประสบการณ์แก่นักศึกษา
