Chiang Mai Rajabhat University Partners with Meliá Hotels International to Elevate Hospitality Education and Human Resources Development

Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Meliá Hotels International to establish a strategic partnership focusing on education, training, and human resource development. The ceremony took place at the University Council Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Rajabhat Chalermprakiat Building, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University.

The agreement was signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chatree Maneekosol, President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutthinan Chuenchom, Dean of International College, alongside Mr. Marc Selinger, General Manager Meliá Chiang Mai, representing Meliá Hotels International in Thailand.

Key Highlights of the Collaboration: This MOU aims to explore opportunities for mutual benefit and to foster student career orientation through industry collaboration. Key areas of cooperation include:

• Internship Programs: Meliá agrees to host CMRU students for in-semester and summer internships at its properties across Thailand, including Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Pattaya.

• Future Leader Development: Both parties will jointly develop a sustainable executive human resources program to nurture high-potential students for future career paths within Meliá.

• Guest Lecturers & Mentorship: Meliá will provide industry experts as guest speakers to share professional insights , while also participating in mentorship programs to guide students in academic and professional areas.

• Joint Research & Field Trips: The partnership includes joint university-industry research projects and site visits for students and faculty to experience real-world work environments.

This partnership is set for a duration of five years , operating on the principles of good faith, professional integrity, and mutual cooperation to bridge the gap between academic excellence and industry requirements.
